"One of the reasons we bring our teenagers to Empowered Youth Conference is for the experience of participating in the competitions on Wednesday afternoon. I appreciate that the competitions are specific to church ministry. As our teens are preparing for competition, they can be useful in our local church. Having teens preaching, singing, playing instruments, and telling Bible stories in our local ministry has been a blessing. I enjoy watching the teenagers pray, plan, and prepare for these competitions knowing that they are gaining practical ministry skills along the way. The competition allows the teenagers to see that God can use them - whether they are called to full-time ministry or will serve as a layman as an adult."
-A. J. Potter (Pastor of Pleasantville Bapt. Church, IA)
"Empowered Youth is one of the highlights of my year! I really enjoy meeting up with old friends and making some new one, too! Every time I’ve come, the Lord has shown me something that needs to be changed in my life or something I can do better in. The messages are very good. You can tell the staff really put their best effort into making Empowered Youth, well, Empowered Youth! One of the things that I really enjoy are the piano competitions. It gives me something to aim for, practice for, and get excited about! Having won last year, I’m excited about attending Fairhaven Baptist College and furthering my piano education. Over all, Empowered Youth is a GREAT opportunity for me, and it’s something I look forward to annually. If you have the chance to come, take that chance!"
